2013 NSF Funding: $61,585,000 [1]

2013 NIH Ranking: 88th Ranked = $51,242,696 [2]

The University of Texas Board of Regents recently voted to give $30 million annually for eight years and $25 million annually thereafter to create a medical school in Austin. [3]

The University of Texas, Austin received a $1.7 million grant from Baker Hughes to renovate and build three labs in the Petroleum and Geosystem Engineering department which will further the innovation of new energy technology. [4]

Chevron Corp. has made a donation of $800,000 to The University of Texas at Austin. The donation will cover laboratory renovations among other programs and initiatives. [5]

Ten tenure-track assistant professors in Texas have been awarded $192,130 in grants by the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health to conduct innovative research in mental health. [6]

Research at The University of Texas, Austin takes place at more than 150 research units and includes facilities such as the Center for Nano- and Molecular Science and Technology, as well as those serving the areas of Computational Engineering and Sciences, and the Department of Biomedical Engineering. [7]

The University of Texas, Austin receives the second highest amount of Federal Research grants for universities without a medical school (the first is MIT). [8]

UT Austin has started construction on a brand new Dell Medical Building, which is to be finished by 2016. [9]

$2.4M awarded was from Howard Hughes Medical Institute to expand the Freshman Research Initiative Program.

$12M awarded to the UT Austin by the US Department of Energy to curtail Greenhouse gas emissions.
